Vertex Inc. has acquired Brinta, an AI-native e-invoicing and compliance provider focused on Latin America, as governments worldwide continue expanding real-time digital tax enforcement models.
The acquisition was announced alongside Vertex’s first quarter 2026 financial results and reflects the growing importance of AI-enabled compliance systems in regions where continuous transaction controls and mandatory e-invoicing have become standard business requirements.
Latin America Continues to Influence Global Compliance Models
Latin America has long operated at the forefront of transaction-based tax compliance. Countries across the region were among the earliest adopters of mandatory e-invoicing, real-time invoice clearance systems, and highly localized digital enforcement requirements.
For multinational businesses, operating in the region has required compliance systems capable of handling immediate validation, ongoing regulatory updates, and country-specific technical requirements without disrupting business operations.
As more jurisdictions globally move toward continuous transaction controls and digitized reporting obligations, many of the compliance practices established in Latin America are increasingly being adopted elsewhere.
AI Becomes More Central to Compliance Operations
The expansion of real-time compliance requirements has increased demand for automation tools capable of supporting regulatory interpretation, invoice validation, and audit-ready documentation across multiple jurisdictions.
Vertex said Brinta’s platform was designed specifically for complex real-time compliance environments in Latin America, combining localized expertise with AI-driven workflow automation.
According to the company, Brinta’s capabilities include automation for:
- Invoice data extraction
- Product classification
- Data mapping and onboarding
- Compliance workflow management
These processes are often resource-intensive for tax and finance teams, particularly in jurisdictions where invoice approval timing and documentation standards are tightly regulated.
Acquisition Supports Vertex’s E-Invoicing Expansion
Vertex President and Chief Executive Officer Chris Young said the acquisition strengthens the company’s Latin America coverage while adding AI-native technology designed for real-time compliance operations.
“In the first quarter we acquired Brinta, an AI-first e-invoicing startup in Latin America,” Young said during the company’s earnings announcement. “The acquisition of Brinta enables us to expedite our country coverage in Latin America while bringing an AI-native architecture built for one of the most complex real-time compliance environments in the world.”
Brinta CEO Michel Golffed said the company has focused on helping organizations manage compliance in demanding tax environments while maintaining operational reliability.
“Our mission has always been to help businesses operate with confidence in some of the world’s most demanding tax environments,” Golffed said.

Real-Time Tax Reporting Continues Expanding Globally
Governments globally continue implementing digitized tax reporting frameworks aimed at increasing transparency and reducing VAT and indirect tax gaps.
These initiatives increasingly include:
- Mandatory e-invoicing
- Continuous transaction controls (CTCs)
- Real-time reporting obligations
- Digital audit trails
- Automated invoice clearance systems
As these requirements expand, multinational companies are placing greater emphasis on compliance platforms capable of adapting to local mandates while maintaining operational consistency across jurisdictions.
The acquisition of Brinta reflects broader market demand for compliance infrastructure built to support real-time regulatory environments and increasing automation requirements in global commerce.
